Vidya Wanti Sharma was born September 24, 1926, in Punjab, India to Thakur Dass Sharma and Her Kaur Sharma and died October 18, 2015, Greenfield, Indiana.

She is survived by five children, Santosh (Som, deceased), Nutan (Murari), Narinder (Jyoti), Rajinder (Rachna) and Ashok (Kiran) along with nine grandchildren Sujay Kaushal and Sujata Kaushal (Santosh/Som), Kirti Kaushal (NutanMuari), Rimci and Rajni (Narinder/Jyoti) Natasha (Rajinder/Rachna), Ashleen, Ashley and Alicia (Ashok and Kiran) and five great grand-children – Akash (Sujay/Neha), Ananya and Ameya (Sujata/David), Diya and Arman (Kirti/Dinesh)

She is proceeded in death by: Son-in-law Som Nath Kaushal

Vidya received her education in Amritsar, Punjab, India and worked in her home. She was a wonderful cook! She helped educate her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing with her grandchild and great grandchildren, we will all cherish her warm blankets, clothing and other hand knitted and crotched gifts.
Vidya immigrated to the United States in 1992 and has been an active member of the Greenfield community for over 20 years. She volunteered her time with associations such as…Hope House of Greenfield, Boys and Girls Club, and Shares and Head Start. Helping others was a big part of her life.
